Getting started

Do I need an account or password?

No passwords, ever. Your email is your account: buying creates it, and signing in to the dashboard works with a 6-digit code we email you. The confirmation email from your purchase contains everything you need.

Updated 2026-07-11

How do I buy a code?

Design it on the homepage (colors, style, logo if you like), give it a destination, and hit the buy button. Checkout is by card through Stripe; the buy button is also the signup, so there’s no account form. Your code is live the moment payment completes, and everything you need arrives by email.

Updated 2026-07-11

Is the free static generator really free?

Yes. Basic static codes (standard colors and styles) download instantly at print resolution, no account, no watermark, no catch. The trade-off is built into physics, not pricing: a static code can never be edited after printing. Premium design features (logo, premium presets, frames) are part of the paid custom design.

What is a dynamic QR code?

A dynamic QR code points at a short address on our domain (like solidqr.co/yourname), and we redirect scanners to your real destination. Because the printed pattern encodes OUR address, you can change where it leads anytime without reprinting anything.

A static QR code encodes your destination directly. It works forever with no company in the middle, but it can never be changed after printing.

SolidQR sells dynamic codes for $4.99, once. Static codes are free in our designer, no account needed.

Why does the designer preview scan to a SolidQR page?

While you design, the on-screen code deliberately encodes solidqr.co/preview instead of your destination. Your real code is encoded at download (free basic) or purchase (everything else). It’s theft protection: a screenshot of an unpaid design isn’t a working code.

Codes & printing

Can I put my logo in the code?

Yes: upload it in the designer and it sits in the center. Logo, premium presets, and frames are part of the custom design ($7.99, once per code or once per bulk batch). Error correction increases automatically so the logo doesn’t hurt scanning.

Updated 2026-07-11

How big should I print my code?

Rule of thumb: printed width should be at least one tenth of the scanning distance. A code scanned from 30 cm (a business card in hand) works at 3 cm wide; a poster scanned from 3 meters needs about 30 cm. When in doubt, bigger; and leave a quiet white margin around the code.

Updated 2026-07-11

I lost my file. Can I download my code again?

Anytime, free, forever: sign in to the dashboard, open the code’s details, and download PNG or SVG in the exact design you bought. Downloads never expire either.

Updated 2026-07-11

What file formats do I get?

PNG at 1024 pixels (good for screens and most prints) and SVG (vector: scales to any size with zero quality loss; give this one to print shops). Both are available at purchase and forever after from your dashboard.

Updated 2026-07-11

Will my styled code actually scan?

The designer checks contrast live and warns you before anything ships (‘scan-checked’). Dark patterns on light backgrounds scan best; a logo raises the error-correction level automatically so the code stays readable around it. If a code we designed won’t scan, that’s a refund, no argument.

Updated 2026-07-11

Managing your codes

Can I change the design of an existing code?

Yes: ‘customize design’ in the code’s dashboard details opens the designer locked to your code’s address. The new artwork is a $7.99 one-time purchase. Anything already printed keeps working (the address didn’t change); future prints get the new look.

Updated 2026-07-11

Can I upgrade my random address to a custom one?

Yes, from the code’s details in the dashboard: pick a name, we check availability live, and checkout takes a minute. Your old code keeps working forever and points at the same destination; nothing needs reprinting, and you use the new address on future prints. Custom addresses start at $1.99 (once) with published tiers up to $99.99 for ultra-premium names.

Updated 2026-07-11

How do I change where my code points?

Sign in to the dashboard, find the code, hit ‘change’ next to its destination, type the new address, save. The change is instant: every print of that code redirects to the new destination on the next scan. Changes are free, forever; that’s what the $4.99 bought.

Updated 2026-07-11

How does bulk creation work?

Switch the designer to bulk mode and paste destinations one per line (up to 100). One design covers the whole batch, the design fee applies once, and pricing steps down: $3.99 each for 2-9 codes, $2.99 for 10-24, $1.99 at 25+. Optional numbered addresses (yourname-1, yourname-2, …) cost one address fee for the entire batch.

Your account

How do I change my account email?

Dashboard → Account settings → Account email. Enter the new address, confirm the 6-digit code we send there, and everything follows: codes, billing, receipts. Your old address gets a 72-hour undo link as a safety net.

Updated 2026-07-11

How do I delete my account?

Dashboard → the red ‘Delete my account’ section. We email a confirmation link that shows exactly what stops working before anything happens. You choose: delete with 14 days to change your mind (a restore link comes by email), or erase immediately with no undo. Deleting permanently stops every code you own, deleted addresses are never resold, and no refunds are issued through deletion.

Updated 2026-07-11

How do I sign in to the dashboard?

Enter your purchase email on the dashboard page; we send a 6-digit code; type it in. You stay signed in for 30 days on that device. No passwords exist, so there’s nothing to forget or leak.

Updated 2026-07-11

I lost access to my email. Now what?

First: your codes are fine; they never stop redirecting over account issues. To regain control: if you set a recovery email, use ‘Lost access to that email?’ on the sign-in page and the code goes there. If not, write support@solidqr.co from your new address, name your old email, and include proof only the payer would know (card last-4, exact charge amount and date). A human verifies against our payment records and transfers the account.

Updated 2026-07-11

What is a recovery email and why set one?

A verified backup address that can sign in to your account if your main inbox is ever lost. Set it in Account settings while everything works; it takes a minute. If you lose your email WITHOUT one, recovery is still possible but slower: a human verifies ownership through your payment details.

Billing & refunds

Does the Pro trial auto-renew?

Yes, and we say so everywhere it’s offered: 30 days free, then it renews at the plan price ($9.99/month for the trial started at checkout) until you cancel. Cancel anytime from the dashboard’s billing link; your codes are never affected, only the analytics go dark.

Updated 2026-07-11

How do I cancel Pro?

Dashboard → ‘manage or cancel’ next to your subscription status. It opens Stripe’s billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Canceling never breaks a code. Ever. That’s the founding promise.

Updated 2026-07-11

What does everything cost?

Dynamic QR code: $4.99, once, forever. Custom design (logo, premium presets, frames): +$7.99, once. Personalized address: from $1.99 once, published tiers up to $99.99 for ultra-premium names. Bulk: $3.99 each for 2-9 codes, $2.99 for 10-24, $1.99 at 25+, design fee once per batch. Pro analytics: $9.99/month or $99/year for up to 5 codes; $29/month or $290/year unlimited; first subscription starts with 30 days free. Static codes: free.

Updated 2026-07-11

What's the refund policy?

30-day money-back guarantee on one-time purchases. Lightly-used codes (10 scans or fewer) refund instantly from the dashboard: open the code’s details, tell us the closest reason it didn’t work out (a text box is there if you want to say more, and a human reads every word), and hit Refund. The quick question never delays the refund; it’s how we find and fix what went wrong. Heavier use, bundles, bulk batches, or a second refund on the same account go through a human: email support@solidqr.co within the 30 days and we’ll review it fairly. A refunded code is deactivated and its address retired. Pro subscriptions cancel anytime and run to the end of the paid period (no proration). One caveat: deleting your account is not a refund path; if you want your money back, ask for the refund.

Updated 2026-07-11

Where's my receipt?

Stripe emails a receipt at purchase (check spam the first time). Need another copy or a receipt for accounting? Write support@solidqr.co and we’ll send it.

Analytics & Pro

Can I export my scan data?

Pro exports per code as CSV (opens in Excel, Sheets, and any BI tool) and JSON, including timestamps, device, OS, referrer, anonymized scanner id, and location fields. One click in the code’s analytics.

Updated 2026-07-11

What analytics are included free?

A scan counter, free forever, per code and account-wide: total scans and the last 30 days. That’s a promise, not a trial.

Updated 2026-07-11

What does Pro analytics add?

Per code: today/7-day/30-day counts, unique vs returning scanners, momentum versus the prior 30 days, daily charts (bars or line, your choice), day-of-week and time-of-day patterns, referrer sources, device and iOS-vs-Android splits, scan locations, and CSV/JSON export. Account-wide: the all-codes chart and a ranking of which codes work hardest.

Updated 2026-07-11

What's the Pro Small 5-code limit?

Pro Small ($9.99/month) covers full analytics on your first five codes. Own more and the free counters still work on all of them, with full analytics needing Pro Unlimited ($29/month, every code). Switching plans is prorated and instant from the dashboard.

Updated 2026-07-11

Why are unique scanners 'approximate'?

Because we refuse to track the people who scan: no cookies, no fingerprinting. Uniques are derived from anonymized network hashes, which shared Wi-Fi can blur. Slightly fuzzy numbers and clean hands; we think that’s the right trade.

Updated 2026-07-11

Trust & policies

Do you track the people who scan my code?

No cookies, no trackers, no cross-site anything on scanners. We record the scan itself (timestamp, coarse location, device type, referrer) for YOUR analytics, with the IP reduced to an anonymized hash. Scan data belongs to the code’s owner and is never sold.

Updated 2026-07-11

Does my code ever expire?

No. The founding promise: a printed SolidQR code never stops redirecting because of a billing event. Canceling Pro, ignoring every upsell, never spending another dollar: your code keeps working. Exactly two things can stop a code, and neither is about money: abuse of our acceptable-use policy, or you deleting your own account.

Updated 2026-07-11

Someone registered my trademark as an address. What do I do?

Use the process at solidqr.co/report-abuse: email legal@solidqr.co with your mark, the address at issue, and a good-faith statement. We acknowledge within 2 business days, disable facially valid claims during review, and resolve within 10 business days of the holder’s response window.

Updated 2026-07-11

What can stop a code from working?

Only two things: (1) the destination violates our acceptable-use policy (phishing, malware, fraud, illegal content), in which case we disable the redirect and show a notice; (2) you delete your own account. Billing events never stop a code. If we disabled your code and got it wrong, email us; a human reviews every counter-notice.

Updated 2026-07-11

What happens if SolidQR shuts down?

Our terms commit to at least 12 months’ notice and a migration path for active codes if the service ever winds down. The stack is deliberately tiny and portable for exactly this reason. Ask any QR vendor this question; most can’t answer it in writing.

Updated 2026-07-11

Troubleshooting

A code says 'retired by its owner.' What does that mean?

The code’s owner deleted their account, which permanently stops their codes. Retired addresses are never resold, so this message is honest forever. If you’re the owner and deleted within the last 14 days, the restore link in your email undoes it.

Updated 2026-07-11

An email never arrived (sign-in code, receipt, confirmation).

Check spam first; the first email from a new sender often lands there. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes, so request a fresh one. Still nothing after a few minutes? Write support@solidqr.co from the address in question and we’ll check delivery from our side.

Updated 2026-07-11

I bought a code with the wrong destination.

No problem and no cost: destination changes are free forever. Sign in to the dashboard and change it; the fix is live on the next scan. This is the entire point of a dynamic code.

Updated 2026-07-11

My code was paused for safety. What happened?

Every destination behind a SolidQR code is checked against Google Safe Browsing when it’s entered and re-checked every day after that. If your destination gets flagged (phishing, malware, unwanted software), the code shows a safety notice instead of redirecting, and we email you. This protects everyone who scans, including your own customers.

Your code itself is fine; the SITE it points to is the issue. Two ways forward: if your site was hacked, clean it up and appeal through Google Search Console, then point the code at it again from the dashboard. Or point the code at any clean address. Either way the code re-enables automatically the moment its destination passes the check; no support ticket needed.

Think the flag is wrong? Reply to the notification email and a human will look.

Updated 2026-07-11

My code won't scan. What do I check?

In order: (1) Contrast: dark code on light background scans best; the designer warns about weak combinations. (2) Size: at least one tenth of the scanning distance wide. (3) Margin: leave white space around the code. (4) Print quality: use the SVG for large prints. (5) Glare and curvature: flat, matte surfaces beat glossy or curved. Still stuck? Email a photo of the print to support@solidqr.co and a human will diagnose it.
